About Dr Madhavi
Hi! I am Dr. Madhavi Rao and I am from India. I am a Doctorate in the field of Applied Mathematics. I am also a postdoctoral researcher. The reason I am here is to help students who find Maths as a dreadful subject. Trust me! It isn't. I am teaching maths for the last 9 years under various capacities. K-11 to Masters in Mathematics has been my student base. I have also guided students in research for their academic projects. In all my years of experience I have realized that it the perception first that has made the subject a Dracula!!! I am here to assist students in making them feel what I have penned here through words. You get transported to a different world the moment you start understanding Mathematics in the actual sense. So, come let's learn maths as a stress buster!!!!
I enjoy teaching Mathematics for the simple reason that it doesn't take too much from to teach. The subject basically requires one skill in abundance and that is common sense!!! I have come across various websites, teaching materials where the problem is made highly complicated just to make it "attractive". I would like to say that the subject in itself is very attractive, provided it is understood properly, and hence doesn't require any put ons. We have to learn or understand the subject the way Newton did it. Just imagine if Newton had to think of something like Calculus in today's scenario!!! As mentioned it acts as a stress buster to me and I am sure I will be able to communicate this to prospective students also.
My teaching stint started when I was in School. Later on my serious teaching started after completing my Post-Graduation.
I have a Doctorate in Applied Mathematics.

I prefer to have a casual interaction with the student at starts and then engage the student on the subject. The interaction is mainly to understand the areas of issue and to convert them to areas of strength. In my honest opinion it is just the suttle support that a student needs which would be extended in abundance.
I have dealt with students from K-11 to students of Masters in Mathematics. I have also taught school students. But my up grown students needed a recaptulation of all that they learnt in school. So my calsses invariably covers all standards.
All I would say is that with me a student would feel Maths like an aerobics exercise. Sweating it out but enjoying to the core.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
They have just got to be themselves and put their concerns frankly so that it helps the teacher be in grips with the situation.
