I am a 6th form student studying biology, chemistry and psychology at AS level looking to tutor in GCSE biology and chemistry. My methods of teaching can vary depending upon my students learning style. I prefer to explain a topic in full and then go back and focus on details and spend time on anything that is confusing or that I badly worded. I would then use exam questions to test applied knowledge before correcting to iron over confusing topics.
I have never tutored before but I am hoping to go into education upon graduation from college. I am hoping to start tutoring as a way to get an idea of what it would be like to teach in hopes of improving my skills.
I am currently studying biology, chemistry and psychology at AS level after completing my GCSE's with an A, 6 B's and 3 C's. This was due to a lack of effort on my part which carried on into my A levels. I must admit that I failed my AS the first time round but whilst given the chance to carry on into A2 I decided it would be a better decision to go back and come out of AS with grades I could be proud of. I am hoping to carry this newfound energy on and teach others to try their best and not be complacent in mediocre grades. I have no work experience in tutoring but I am hoping to use this opportunity to learn and improve my skills. I however, have good people skills and can connect with people very easily to find the best way to communicate with and teach them.
At GCSE I achieved the following grades;
-An A in music.
-B's in biology, chemistry, history, English language, French and mathematics.
-C's in physics, history and English literature.
