About Stephanie
My passion lies within the arts.
I am an avid performer. I have been involved in drama in all degrees ranging from productions, behind the scenes, writing, directing, and acting for film and stage for the last 10 years. I have also been an actor with Gail Cowen Management since 2018.
On the rare occasion, I am not preparing to perform, or performing, I like to spend my time walking two gorgeous dogs, hanging out with friends, paddle boarding, hiking, and reading.
I am also working towards a certificate in sign language, which has been a wonderful and rewarding process so far
Some of my highlights so far:
2016-2018: Achieving all levels of NCEA with an Excellence Endorsement
2017: Awarded a Showdown for the Best Female Lead from a play
2017: Best Performer at Auckland Sheliah Winn competition
2018: Awarded the Leman Drama cup
2018: Getting 1/20 spots in the 2019 Toi Whakaari class out of 600+ applications.
2018: Gaining Scholarship Drama
2019: Gaining the Power of Inclusion Summit scholarship
2021: Graduated with a Bachelors of Performing Arts with an overall A grade

Hello, my name is Stephanie,
I am currently a private Speech and Drama tutor at Saint Kentigern College, and Saint Kentigern Girl's school. I hold a bachelor's degree in Performance alongside, years of theatre experience and more recently film/television.
As I said I teach a broad age range (8-16). Due to this, my lessons differ depending on the child's learning desires and level, along with their age. A typical lesson length would be 30 minutes.
With my younger children, we focus on confidence building, public speaking, poems, improvisation, and mime. The older children's focus is directed towards pieces of text, improvisation, text analysis, and learning about methodologies such as Stanislavsky.
I am currently preparing my students for exams that are hosted by Trinity or Speech NZ. Whether your child has experience or not with exams I can support any child's level.
Constant communication with my kids and their parents is very important to me, to ensure their safety and empowerment is the top priority.
