About Rhianne
Hi! Thank you so much for your interest in my tutoring.
I’m a highly experienced secondary English teacher and tutor based in Hove, with nearly 20 years in the classroom. I’m passionate about helping young people feel confident in their abilities and supporting them to succeed in English, particularly when they may have found the subject challenging in the past.
I’m known for my calm, kind and nurturing approach, and I place a strong emphasis on building positive relationships so that students feel comfortable and supported in their learning. Alongside my classroom teaching, I have extensive pastoral experience as a Head of Year, which has strengthened my understanding of how to support students both academically and emotionally. Safeguarding is central to my practice, and I always prioritise creating a safe, respectful environment where students feel secure and able to thrive.

My priority is to help students build confidence and genuinely enjoy developing their GCSE English skills. I take a kind, nurturing approach and tailor each session to the individual student and the grade they are aiming to achieve.
My teaching is informed by up-to-date AQA guidance, alongside my experience as a senior examiner for English Language Paper 1 and a curriculum leader in the classroom. I have particular expertise in supporting students working at grades 3–4 to secure a pass, as well as stretching students aiming for grades 7–9.
