About Kyle
Hi! I'm Kyle, a Biochemistry student at The University of Texas at Austin with a passion for science and education. Throughout my academic journey, I've discovered that one of the most rewarding experiences is helping others gain confidence in subjects that once felt overwhelming.
In addition to my coursework, I've served as both a General Chemistry Undergraduate Course Assistant and an Organic Chemistry Learning Assistant at UT Austin, where I've supported hundreds of students through office hours, review sessions, and one-on-one instruction. I've also conducted biochemical research and continue to apply scientific thinking through my work in healthcare, giving me both a strong academic foundation and real-world perspective.
I understand that chemistry can be intimidating, and I've been in the same position as many of my students. That's why I strive to create a welcoming, patient, and judgment-free learning environment where questions are encouraged and mistakes are viewed as opportunities to learn.
Whether you're aiming to improve your grades, prepare for an important exam, or build a stronger understanding of chemistry, I'm committed to helping you reach your goals with personalized, engaging instruction. I look forward to working with you and making science a little less stressful, and a lot more rewarding.

Every student learns differently, so I tailor each lesson to the individual's goals, learning style, and current level of understanding. My objective is not just to help students earn higher grades, but to build the confidence and problem-solving skills they need to succeed long after our sessions are over.
My teaching philosophy centers on understanding before memorization. Rather than encouraging students to memorize formulas or reactions, I focus on helping them understand the underlying concepts and recognize patterns that make complex topics easier to learn and remember. I ask guiding questions throughout our sessions to help students think critically and develop the ability to solve problems independently.
A typical lesson begins by identifying the student's goals and any concepts they're struggling with. From there, we review the foundational material, work through practice problems together, and gradually transition to the student solving questions on their own while I provide feedback and strategies. At the end of each session, we review key takeaways and create a plan for continued practice so students leave feeling prepared and confident.
As both a General Chemistry Undergraduate Course Assistant and an Organic Chemistry Learning Assistant at The University of Texas at Austin, I've had the opportunity to work with students from a wide range of backgrounds and learning styles. These experiences have taught me how to break down challenging concepts into manageable pieces and explain them in multiple ways until they make sense.
I primarily tutor high school and college students in General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry, and related Natural Science courses. Whether you're preparing for an upcoming exam, working through homework, catching up after falling behind, or striving for top grades, I'm committed to creating a supportive, encouraging environment where questions are always welcome and learning feels achievable.

Kyle tutored me in Honors Chemistry after my older sibling recommended him, and he made a huge difference in my understanding of the class. Before we started meeting, I struggled to keep up with the pace of the material and often felt overwhelmed before quizzes and tests.
What stood out most was how patient and encouraging he was. He never just gave me the answers; instead, he helped me understand the concepts behind the problems, which made it much easier to solve new questions on my own. He explained difficult topics in a way that actually made sense and always made sure I felt confident before moving on.
By the end of the course, I had a much stronger understanding of chemistry and earned an A in the class. I would definitely recommend Kyle to any high school or college student looking for a tutor who is knowledgeable, supportive, and genuinely invested in helping students succeed.Kyle was an excellent tutor for my General Chemistry II class. He explained difficult concepts in a way that was easy to understand and always made sure I understood the material before moving on. He was patient, encouraging, and tailored each session to the topics I needed the most help with.
What I appreciated most was that he focused on helping me truly understand the concepts instead of just memorizing formulas. We worked through practice problems together, and I left each session feeling much more confident. Thanks to his guidance, I felt significantly more prepared for my exams and improved my performance in the course.
I would highly recommend Kyle to anyone looking for a knowledgeable, supportive, and effective chemistry tutor.View more recommendations
