About David

My Approach to Coaching:

I believe great acting comes from curiosity, imagination, truthful connection and the courage to
make bold choices.

My Meisner training informs my approach, but I recognise that every actor is different. I draw on
a range of techniques and practical tools, adapting each session to your individual needs,
experience and ambitions.

My coaching is supportive, collaborative and challenging in the best sense. I want you to feel
comfortable taking risks, experimenting and discovering new possibilities, while also receiving
constructive feedback and practical direction that you can apply immediately.

As an actor, I understand the demands and vulnerabilities of performance. As a producer and
director, I bring an additional perspective on storytelling, character, casting and the realities of
the industry today.

The aim isn't simply to tell you how to act. It's to help you develop your own instincts, trust your
choices and become a more versatile, confident and independent performer.

About the lesson

Whether you're preparing for an audition/self-tape, developing a challenging character, applying to drama school or looking for honest, informed industry guidance, I can help
you identify your strengths, overcome obstacles and make confident, authentic choices in your
work.

What I Offer:
- Acting Technique & Character Development:
Explore the Meisner technique and a range of acting tools to develop truthful, spontaneous and
emotionally connected performances. Discover how to build compelling characters, understand
objectives and relationships, and bring greater depth and authenticity to your work.

- Screen Acting & On-Camera Technique:
Learn to work naturally and confidently in front of the camera. Develop your listening, reactions,
presence and subtlety, recognise and fix on screen bad habits such as lip biting or fidgeting, and
understand how to create performances that feel alive, specific and truthful on screen.

- Audition Preparation & Self-Tape Coaching:
Prepare for your next opportunity with focus and confidence. We'll analyse the material, explore
character choices, refine your performance and work on delivering a memorable audition. My
experience as an actor, producer and director gives me valuable insight into what happens on
the other side of the casting process.

- Script Analysis & Scene Study:
Go beyond the lines to uncover the story beneath the surface. We'll explore subtext, objectives,
obstacles, relationships and emotional shifts, helping you make stronger choices and develop a
deeper connection with the material.

- Career Mentoring & Industry Advice:
Navigate the acting profession with greater clarity. Drawing on my experience across acting,
directing and producing, I'll offer practical guidance on professional development, auditions,
casting, networking and building a sustainable career in the industry.

- Drama School & Acting Development:
Whether you're taking your first steps into acting or preparing for professional opportunities, we'll
identify the skills you need, build your confidence and create a focused approach to your
development.
