About Andrei
I am in the final stages of a PhD in Chemistry at Durham University, and now run my own company developing custom science instruments. I have excelled in my own academic studies, but have also always been proactive in inspiring the next generation.
I have engaged with a wide range of students from secondary school right through to teaching third-year undergraduate students in physical chemistry labs. I have won several awards for my enthusiastic approach to teaching.
These days, I spend most of my day solving hard practical problems while doing experiments, building instruments or coding artificial intelligence; I love to share the problems I come across, showing how and why the things we learn in school make a BIG impact in technology and the world in general.

I am a highly visual person and try to relate all of my teaching to real-world examples. I find that this makes difficult concepts easier to understand while showing why it is important to learn them in the first place.
I found that it only takes a little bit of context to turn a difficult 'exam-style question' into a fun and educational discussion. I also find that students can remember concepts much longer when they can visualise where they can be applied, reducing the revision stress before exams.
As a tutor, I teach up to GCSE science and maths. My lessons are based around your needs, so if you have questions or topics that you particularly struggle with, or just find boring, then I aim to explain them in a practical and more interesting approach, showing how they can be thought of or solved intuitively.
Science is simply the study of AMAZING things in the world around us. From my experience, if it's not interesting, it's not done right!

Andrei was able to break down complex concepts in small and manageable stages. He has a vast and impressive knowledge of the sciences which helps contextualise the everyday applications of key principles we covered. I have worked with him for coding and chemistry and can testify to the great quality of his teaching. He is approachable and personable, working with him was a pleasure!
