First of all I need to know how much you know. Every topic belongs to a different stage of scientific subject. To understand one thing sometimes I have to teach other things to organize the knowledge, and put together everything you need to have a complete vision.
I have previously taught GCSE students but I am capable of tutoring A-level students through Chemistry, Biology, Physics and Mathematics. I find that at this level, the best way to learn and achieve top results is to do practice questions and exam papers. In doing this, students gain the knowledge needed for their exams but also exam skills and techniques that are vital to exceeding expectations.
I take students along with the schools, helping them with their homework’s, preparing them for tests and exams along with giving them separate creative assignments and tasks.
My teaching is method is straightforward. I first go over the theory of the topic in detail, breaking it down, then give examples of the equations or theory. afterwards, I look at two exam-style questions, the first easy and the second a bit more advanced. Once understood, I set the pupil questions, ranging from easy to hard.
I start by meeting the student and parents for an informal 45 minute discussion free of charge. Then the work begins - a mixture diagnosis and prioritising work accordingly with an emphasis of the student completing a range of questions.
I always start with a free assessment, to get to know you and devise a topic list to work through. I tailor the sessions to you, but a typical session will start with me helping you understand school work that you have not been able to complete, or mistakes you are unable to rectify. I try explaining the concepts in different ways so they can be really understood and them I suggest that the student practices by himself, so we can later solve problems that may arise when the student is working on his own.

Geology is a fascinating, multi-disciplinary subject that builds upon the fundamental principals of chemistry, physics and maths to develop an understanding of the Earth and our Solar system. I offer GCSE to A-Level tutoring in chemistry, physics and maths, as well as GCSE, A-Level and degree (BSc and MSc) level tutoring in Geology.
I believe it's important to listen to the student's experience when initially establishing the appropriate strategy and intervention. Through this I am able to work out precisely what and where the student has been struggling, or how they would like more help. Talking this through also gives me an idea of how the student learns and processes information most effectively.
My teaching method is first to understand the level of knowledge the other person is on. From that can be built the foundation for how to understand higher concepts of science. The more inexperienced the student is the more analogies to real life are needed to teach the subject, and as they progress the less they are required and knowledge can be further built upon knowledge.

I try to cater the lesson to the needs of the student. If there are specific topics that are problematic I will focus on these to identify where a student is getting stuck and try to help them through it. If a student requires a more general overview of a topic I will change my approach accordingly.
I am a big believer in analogies. Once I find a fitting analogy that makes sense to my student I can make the most complex of topics fun, engaging and easily understood! All while keeping a close eye on the curriculum to ensure relevance.
I believe that each student learns differently and I adapt to each students learning needs in order to tutor them in the most beneficial and efficient way.
