About Monique
Hello, my name is Monique. I am currently a high school English teacher, covering Language, Poetry, and Literature for students age 14-18. I base all my lessons on the lives of my students. Contextualizing content from your perspective builds deeper understanding, which is the essence of learning. My approach is holistic, as all parts of education can be integrated into your daily life. I bring dedication and passion to all my undertakings and offer all the support I can, to ensure my students achieve the best results.

I prefer to collaborate with my students, to create unique learning goals and content to reach those goals. I value feedback from my learners and adapt my lessons based on what you feel is most effective for you. I have a Bachelor of Education degree, as well as a 150-hour TEFL/TESOL certification. I have over 6 years of teaching experience at traditional, in-person schools. I am currently an English Home Language teacher (covering Language, Literature, and Poetry), for Grades 8-12. I have a specialization in English and Afrikaans Languages of Learning and Teaching, as well as foundation phase teaching, all subjects.
