About Dhilsa
I love helping students understand new ideas and feel confident in their learning. In my classes, we go step by step, use fun examples, and make sure you understand why things work — not just the answers. I explain everything in a simple and clear way, and I’m always happy to repeat or slow down if you need extra help. No question is ever too small! My lessons are usually 45 minutes to 1 hour, and I make sure they are interesting, interactive, and not boring. We learn together, practice together, and celebrate every improvement. I teach students in primary and early secondary school, helping with reading, writing, grammar, comprehension, vocabulary, arithmetic, and basic math skills. I’m also studying BCom with ACCA, which helps me teach Math in a logical and easy way. I’m patient, friendly, and always here to support you. My goal is to help you feel confident, enjoy learning, and do your best in school. Looking forward to learning with you.

Techniques and Teaching Methodology
I follow a very student-centred approach. My priority is to understand each student’s learning style—whether they learn better through examples, visuals, or step-by-step explanations. For both English and Maths, I break concepts into simple, manageable parts, then build up gradually so the student feels confident at every stage.
I also use a lot of practice-based learning: exercises, quick quizzes, and real-life examples so students can connect what they learn to practical situations. I make sure the sessions are interactive, encouraging students to ask questions, think independently, and explain concepts back to me to ensure real understanding.
• Typical Length of a Lesson
My lessons typically last 45 minutes to 1 hour. I’ve found this duration keeps students engaged without overwhelming them. For younger learners or students who need short bursts of focus, I can also adjust the timing based on their needs.
• Qualifications/Experience as a Tutor
I’m currently pursuing BCom with ACCA, which gives me strong analytical and numerical skills that support my Maths teaching. I also have experience tutoring school-level English and Maths, helping students improve their grammar, writing, comprehension, arithmetic, and basic algebra.
Along with academic knowledge, I focus on building students’ confidence and study habits, which I believe is just as important as the subject itself.
