About Anyssa
I am a biology PhD student with experience tutoring math and science at the college, high school, and middle school level. Previous students have complimented my patience and ability to break down and explain difficult concepts. Every student is unique, so I prioritize being able to explain concepts in multiple different ways, and having personalized lessons to focus on the student's needs. I also have experience tutoring students with learning disabilities including ADHD and dyslexia.

I have experience tutoring a variety of ages and classes, including elementary math, mid-level math, pre-algebra, algebra, geometry, biology, chemistry, and organic chemistry. I can also provide assistance for scientific writing (i.e.: lab reports and research papers).
The first session typically involves discussing the student's strengths and weaknesses in the subject and reviewing a recent test or assignment. Then I will re-teach concepts the student is struggling with, walk them through practice questions, and then provide questions for them to answer on their own to check understanding of the material. I will also provide personalized study tips for the students to use between tutoring sessions.
