About Aliya
I'm a 23 year old biology graduate with a passion for life sciences. Throughout my college career, I enjoyed study groups and I often found myself being the "teacher" in these groups. It brings me joy in helping another understand not just biology, but any subject I'm familiar with. I grew up with younger siblings, so I learned patience a long time ago, and to have faith in the people I'm working with. I also have years of experience tutoring for families locally. When introducing a topic, I like to begin by discussing a similar, simpler concept that the student is likely to understand. If this method works it creates a reference, making it easier to learn and grasp the new concept. If this method does not work, I proceed with a simpler introductory and do not proceed until important foundations are comprehended to prevent falling behind. I also like to cater to preferred styles of learning (ie. visual, verbal, physical). In any case, I'm capable.
