About Tyson

As a former Junior Golden Gloves USA contender, I bring over eight years of boxing experience, including amateur competition. Alongside my career in the entertainment industry, I’ve dedicated myself to coaching, helping clients develop their technique, fitness, and mindset in the ring.

My expertise combines hands-on fight experience with a strategic approach to training, ensuring each session is tailored to individual goals. Now based in Melbourne, I’m committed to sharing my knowledge and shaping the next generation of enthusiast.

I believe in the holistic development of my students, integrating comprehensive technique training, strength and conditioning workouts, and mental toughness coaching into my programs. To me, boxing is not only about physical strength but also about developing discipline, focus, and resilience—qualities essential both inside and outside the ring.

  • At what age did you start practising this sport? Tell us about this time in your life.

    I began boxing during my early childhood years, seeking both energy release and a clear sense of direction. The gym offered me immediate structure, turning what started as a hobby into a disciplined pursuit.
    Through boxing, I developed resilience, focus, and composure under pressure—qualities that continue to guide me.
  • What are your favourite sports; those that you practise at a high level, a simple hobby, and a sport you'd still like to discover?

    Boxing is my primary discipline, pursued with seriousness and dedication. Outside the ring, basketball stands out as a favourite due to its dynamic pace and strategic elements.
    I am also eager to advance my skills in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, appreciating its technical intricacies and mental demands.
  • What gives you the motivation and passion to pursue this craft?

    Witnessing transformation motivates me profoundly. Observing individuals evolve from uncertainty to confidence and discipline through boxing is deeply rewarding.
    This sport fosters not only physical fitness but also the development of a strong mindset and facilitating such growth remains my driving passion.
  • Do you have an achievement that you're particularly proud of?

    Competing as a Junior Golden Gloves contender marked a significant milestone in my career. However, my most meaningful achievement has been cultivating positive client outcomes via Superprof.
    Supporting clients as they enhance their technique, fitness, and self-confidence represents true accomplishment for me.
  • How have your achievements and challenges made you a better athlete?

    Competitive experience has strengthened my determination, while coaching has heightened my awareness. Navigating personal challenges and mentoring others has taught me patience, adaptability, and precision.
    Every student contributes valuable insights, enriching my abilities as both coach and athlete.
  • If you had to go for a jog with a famous athlete, who would you choose? And what questions would you ask them?

    I would select Michael Jordan. I am interested in understanding how he sustained exceptional standards throughout his career and managed immense pressure amid high expectations.
    His approach to maintaining performance at an elite level is truly compelling.
  • How do you help people stay motivated?

    I promote motivation by establishing clear structures, explicit objectives, and measurable progress indicators. Each session is purpose-driven, and accountability is paramount.
    While motivation can fluctuate, discipline provides consistency, so I encourage reliance on routines rather than moods.
