Im Leo and I'm a graduate with a BSc Biochemistry, Chemistry and Microbiology degree from Nelson MandelaUniversity, South Africa. I have given private lessons since 2017. My teaching method per lesson is to give a general overview of a topic first, then go into detail explaining before making the learner to write notes. This has helped me personally as well as my other students as they get to write what already understand. This also plays an important role in making one grasp a concept as they are writing what they already have an idea about. If a student then goes on to study after the lesson using my special study tips that l only give to my students, they will surely be able to understand a topic, grasp a concept and most importantly recall. I also use regular tests, revision exercises and quizzes to encourage my students to study and to frequently check their progress and understand. A vebal exercise to check the understanding of a section is done after each and every lesson. This is to see whether my students have really understood what was happening in the lesson. Also, after each and every topic, a test is written to constantly check the progress of students and how well they understand each topic. I just do not teach students the general information with regards to a subject, l take a look at and use the syllabus of exam board which that particular student will be examined. This helps with making sure the student is learning what they are supposed to know in accordance to the exam board that will examine them. As a result, the student will not find themselves studying out of context or out of the things specified by their syllabus. Lastly, l love questions and do not mind repeating the same thing a number of times for a student to understand.
