About Carys

A* student in English, History and Mathematics with offers from Cambridge, Durham, LSE and UCL to read history.
I have a wide experience base around English literature and language; having written research papers and won essay competitions in formal English and History settings, I have gained much transferable experience in what is expected of students and can provide avenues for those wishing to take their studies wider.
I began by successfully but informally tutoring GCSE students after comfortably attaining two A*s with AQA at GCSE, and expanded to helping second language friends with SAT preparation and resolution writing in the European Youth Parliament.
Alongside success at student level, my broad spectrum of extracurricular knowledge from French to Russian literature injects a love for the subject into the exam process, making the expected turn into interest to exchange passes for success.

About the lesson

Mixture of exam practice exposure, literature exposure, language, spelling and grammar exercises with A level + GCSE experience of success to target primary, secondary and GCSE students.
Successfully tutored students to GCSE level and second language students to take tests in formal English.
Either one or two hour online lessons for anyone around the UK at student level.
Wide resource base specifically targeting exam success alongside personal read experience and aid with spelling, grammar, creative writing and fluency.

I struggled with English all of year 10 and so for year 11 I decided to put my faith in Carys. She was wonderful, gave expert explanations and built up my confidence. I owe my exceptional grades to her. She turned my 4 into a 7!!! Would highly recommend to anyone.

Carys tutored me for 3 months leading up to my English GCSE, and she was amazing. She understood what I needed from our lessons and delivered in every area. She explained things in a clear way and I was able to sit my exam with a lot more confidence! I went from a grade 6 to writing grade 9 level essays so thank you so much, Carys! Highly recommend.

Carys has bern great at helping me prepare for my SAT! When we started our lessons my average score was at a measly 1200, however only in a few weeks it has soared to over 1450. Definitely, the hands on approach of someone who has gone through the experience of modern examinations is something Carys excels in and succeeds with, helping her students. Thank you queen, I dont know what I would be doing without you)))
