About Aki
CELTA-qualified English language teacher with over 20 years' experience in mentoring, and professional work within NHS and international healthcare environments. Drawing on an extensive career in diagnostic and interventional radiography, including leadership as Lead Radiographer in Interventional Radiology and previous experience as an Applications Specialist at Philips Healthcare, I have developed expertise in explaining complex concepts clearly, adapting teaching to learners' needs, and building confidence through effective communication. My background in staff development, clinical supervision, and technical training is complemented by formal training in communicative language teaching, enabling me to create engaging, learner-centred lessons for students from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds. Recognised for being accurate, patient, approachable, and reliable, with excellent interpersonal, organisational, and teamwork skills.
