I first and foremost look at the curriculum the student is studying. Then discuss (with parents also) their goals and what they wish to achieve or gain from tuition. It is important to adapt to the students style of learning; and make sure they find the task at hand exciting. I try to make all my lessons fun; as a bored student will never put in 100% effort.
I believe that learning modern languages should be about connecting with people in a friendly and enthusiastic manner. As a result, I take a more holistic approach to my teaching. Wherever possible, I try to make sure that my lessons are relaxed, humorous and fun.
I have assisted a group of 3 kids aged 9-10 at a local library with homework and upcoming tests and I saw them improve as they exceeded their own expectations. I can adopt a multitude of strategies, from e-learning and videos to textbook-style learning and regular self-constructed tests. I will then use what the kid enjoys to help them progress.
I can tailor the lessons around what the student wants, whether it be grasping the basics, explanations of complex concepts or going through exam questions. I try to understand the preferred learning style of all my students so that they are able to remain engaged and learn in a way that suits them.
Michelle also has a keen interest in helping students with special educational needs, and her highly practical, strengths-based approach to learning has been proven to help students who struggle with conventional lesson plans. Michelle is experienced in succeeding outside traditional educational models and is available to provide support and advice to students looking to do the same.
My lessons are constructed based on where the child is. I will need to gain understanding on what the child may struggle with or what they are unsure of and from there I will plan my lessons. Once I have gained an idea, I will give them homework to do every week and ensure they are practicing regularly.
I am currently studying my degree in BA Hons English and Drama and can other my tutoring services for all students, up to A-Levels. I will base my lessons on what you feel are your weaknesses and will provide you with constant support. I am in the second year of my degree and I plan on using my degree to pursue a career in education.
Please provide me with the relevant English school work you would like help with, and I will assist by systematically breaking the skill down and making the content relatable.
My methods of teaching is first by outlining the strengths and weaknesses of the student. I would then aid students to tackle their weaknesses by going through each topic in a difficult module, structure exam based answers and mark extra work. By tackling the difficult topics students gain more confidence in the subject as a whole.
I’m dedicated to delivering quality first teaching and I have a calm, friendly, approachable manner. I aim to gain an understanding of where the child is at academically and build upon that knowledge, ensuring they have a deep understanding of basic concepts. I want all my children to master their subjects, and be able to apply their understanding and answer any given question or problem.
The most effective teaching method I utilise is by first outlining what my student needs help on, then designing each lesson to suit their learning type. Following on from this, I then direct quizzes and assessments to monitor progress and learning.
I like to work with students to figure out what their strengths and weaknesses are and tailor lessons to their needs. My tutoring will be personalised as my goal is to ensure students get the help they require. All students are of different abilities and they can all improve in certain areas.
Dear students! I was an A level student just as yourselves, and I am open to giving lessons to anyone who is struggling with their A levels, regardless of where you are or think you are in your exam grades! My techniques in teaching, are short snap-revised video lessons or using pictures as well as in typing, depending on the subject topic at hand, in a cohesive, short and easy to understand...
I like everyone to enjoy the teaching process, it's easier to learn in that way. From children to adults, ensuring that the learning environment is one that allows the person to relax, yet maintain discipline, so there will always be common ground rules for working.
I can give lessons to those preparing for entrance exams (4+, 7+, 11+) and also at primary level in general. I'd also be able to give lessons to students looking to prepare for GCSE examinations. I take time to consider the pupil's ability, and their most preferable way of learning, and structure lessons around this.
I have taught Philosophy at the Italian state grammar schools for decades. Now I am attending a PhD at KCL. In my class I both put the philosophical ideas into the historical context, presenting the philosophers who invented and discussed them, and into the conceptual system of the so called philosophical disciplines, such as ethics, epistemology, metaphysics, aesthetics, anthropology and ethics.
My methodology for teaching is, taking diagnostic tests, then building rapport and then checking concepts through questions and further tests.
My teaching methodology consists of first equipping my students with the skills and knowledge they need. I then aid them to perfect those new skills through consistent practice and persistence. Progressing in any subject or language is a combination of the right tolls and hard work.
Since I specialise in coaching, I’m not only looking to help improve in a specific subject, but I’m also trying to help develop excellent learning and revision habits. This means that my tutoring session will focus on the personal growth of the tutee as well the topic at hand. I will provide a fun working environment, accompanied by a broad set of tips for the upcoming GCSE exams.
Continuing the ethos I learned at the student success centre I taught at in New York, my goal is not just to prescribe to give clients the tools to become better writers. All lesson plans start and end with the clients desire.
My method is to meet with the pupil/student define what the problem areas are then base my classes on how to tackle anything the pupil/student might have problems with & strengthen these areas by talking through the main difficulties & giving the pupil a technique on how to manage the work or the dissertation.
I believe in a constructivist approach to learning. A constructivist adapts quickly to the child's needs and uses formative assessment methods to identify a students strengths and weaknesses. Using formative assessment allows for learning to happen more rapidly. I have found in the past, that this approach has allowed the students I teach to generate outstanding results in literacy and numeracy.
After having achieved grade 9 for both Literature and Language GCSE, I decided I would like to share my passion for English with others. My teaching approach is one of patience, I like to be open-minded, considering alternative interpretations to any text studied, as that is part of the beauty of the subject.
My teaching style is friendly, structured and supportive: I tailor lessons to students' academic needs. We will go through each topic by theme, character and language analysis, geared towards the assessment style (essay/exam).
I understand that sometimes the problem may be finding the topic "boring" or "too complicated", so my approach is often to make it more relatable or (when appropriate) entertaining for the students. I have a deep appreciation and passion for literature and writing, so to help make that connection for someone else would be a real honour.
In each lesson, I like my students to go on an adventure through their task. Whether it's through exam prep or poetry creation, students will explore and hone their skills and talents based on the fundamental framework offered through their regular school work. Like a good story, a lesson has a beginning, middle, and end, with twists and turns throughout.
PROFESSIONAL SUMMARY: Teacher focused on implementing highly effective instructional practices to improve student learning and academic performance. Highly innovative and resourceful education professional who quickly identifies and resolves challenging classroom situations as well as focus on children's holistic development.
I like to take assessment before start teaching so I can know what level child stands on. I prepare my own resources according to the assessment. I believe on practise more on each topic and then move on to the next topic. After every topic, I take a test.
No two students are the same and so I am very flexible in my approach to teaching. My sessions typically include plenty of visual aids and a lot of gesturing to help students with remembering. Building children's confidence is key in their success so I typically include a lot of praise and show pupils where they are making progress.
I believe that providing equal opportunities to all children is at the heart of good educational practice. My approach to teaching is to ensure that the lessons are enjoyable for my learners.
