My tutoring is very thorough and patient.
I have a lot of experience and success in working with individual students to raise their English levels. I am adept at developing students' self- esteem and their ability to overcome barriers to learning. - Which subject(s) do you teach? I teach school English up to GCSE level, enabling students to develop their skills in both English Language and English Literature.
An outstanding, highly experienced and dedicated tutor . Tuition provided for 11+, 13+, Common Entrance, GCSE and IGCSE examinations. Students prepared for QTS tests in literacy and numeracy. Proofreading, essay and dissertation writing advice given. Lessons are always tailored to the specific needs of each and every student.
I get to know my students before I begin tutoring them. This way I can effectively work with them. My lesson structures are logical. I also tailor my lessons to support individual students who require extra support or to enable them to be challenged in their learning.
I prefer practical learning i.e. talking on the topic as well as aiding students with their research. This helps to pick out the relevant information required in order to make both learning and writing efficient. I am confident to work with all age groups on various topics.
My teaching method varies in age group, year group, group lesson and individual lesson. I tend to take the first lesson relaxed and get to know my students well and build a fun and useful lesson to provide the best service also give me the chance to evaluate my student- this gives me an insight on how I should approach them and teach.
I have a holistic teaching style that places equal emphasis on results and process. I believe that education should be an enjoyable and inspiring experience, so put a great deal of thought into how to make any subject fun and rewarding.
At the offset of my tutoring lessons, I tend to provide a short test for the child, which I work through with them. This allows me some insight into where the child is at and how I might best help them with areas they might be struggling with. I then devise a plan based on this for the following weeks, which I go through with the parents before the following lessons.
I begin tutoring by giving each children an exam paper. This allows me to see the topics children need more help on and the topics they are confident in. I begin every lesson by looking at their homework that I set previously with them. I set tasks based on topics children do not feel confident in and topics that children are underachieving in.
As a SEN specialist, my teaching is based on the child's individual needs. I am a creative at heart and that seeps through all my teaching; providing resources and planning lessons that cater for all learning types.
My aim as a tutor is to create in my students a deep understanding and confidence in answering exam questions and being able to tackle new and unfamiliar problems. My philosophy is based on the idea that learning happens in an environment of mutual respect in which the student is encouraged to think and make new connections for themselves.
I tailor my lessons specifically to the texts to be taught and how the student responds to each text. This can mean breaking down the texts into different sized areas of note to make sure that a high level of understanding is achieved. Quality discussion and debating with the student is essential to ascertain a full knowledge of the texts and subject areas.
I specialise in teaching children how to read, especially those who are struggling to keep up with their peers. I personalise lessons based on my observations of the child's strengths and areas to develop. I keep the lessons short and fast paced. A typical lesson involves reading familiar texts, letter and word games, writing a short story and reading new texts.
A friendly, patient and professional actor based in London with interests from Shakespeare to Spider-man. Learning can be nerve wracking at times but, if approached well and logically, it can be easily tackled and, sometimes, be enjoyable too.

In my experience, learning is a highly individual process. The role of a teacher should then be a flexible one, aiming to help each student find the most appropriate and engaging path to their learning goals. Whilst standardised assessments are unavoidable in the UK education system, I make it my duty to guide each student to their own goals.

I am an MA graduate based in Islington, North London. I offer support and tuition to students who want to improve their written and spoken English. I like to make lessons interesting, so each one will have a theme. For example, an ESOL lesson might be about transport, music or shopping .
My teaching method is based on communication, open discussion of ideas and positive reinforcement - there's no problem so big it can't be tackled, and there are always ways to make progress in small steps no matter how hard you find something.
In terms of teaching method, I am comfortable either following books and pre-made resources or creating my own. When teaching latin I used a range of interactive resources, like games and creative activities, in order to engage the students. When helping older students I find essay marking/comparison/improvement whilst engaging with marking criteria is constructive.
I like to teach around the students. E.g their hobbies and interests, and also how they learn: games, reading, listening etc. I start by figuring out what they do or don't know and build a lesson surrounding that, then build their knowledge.
My educational philosophy is to encourage a pupil’s intellectual curiosity, and his or her independent and individual thought. With this in mind I have developed individually tailored curricula to complement, support and extend my pupils’ work at school.
I would, ideally, like to teach students who are in A'Levels and above. I aim to use various methods of instructions like reading books, listening to music, flash cards and the like. However, ultimately the student whom I am teaching will shape how they are taught. I do not believe in a one size fits all teaching approach.
