About Zuha
I am a third year Chemical Engineering student at the University of Manchester. I have been working with The Tutor Trust for over a year to provide children from a variety of schools over Greater Manchester with lessons in Maths and Science.

I am a DBS certified tutor who has experience both in a school and home setting teaching small groups and individuals. My students are often ones who are struggling with achieving their target grades for the Science and Maths GCSE examinations. I like to focus my lessons on what the students feel least confident in, while also ensuring that the key topics are being secured.
During the lessons I like to start by going over anything that has been learned in the previous session. I feel as though this acts as a better starter or warm up instead of choosing an unrelated task. By testing what you remember I am able to judge whether or not it is appropriate to move on to the next topic. By constantly asking the student questions and talking through anything they have gotten wrong without delay I am able to maintain a comfortable environment where the student can easily ask questions and be confident in their work.
As a tutor who is still in education, I like to make sure that I am empathetic and understanding towards the student and their needs. A tuition session should be completely different from a classroom lesson. Most of the focus should be on the students needs rather than only the work that needs to be done.
