A first lesson would be getting to know the student and their level of understanding of the subject, and then we can start from there, building on their knowledge slowly. I prefer to give a problem based session rather than a lecture type session in order to see whether the child is completely understanding the topic.
I am a 4th Year Chemistry student undergoing a placement at the National Physical Laboratory in Teddington.
