About Marla
Hi, I’m Marla, a math tutor with 6 years of experience helping K-12 and college 1st year students actually enjoy math. I know how frustrating it feels when numbers don’t make sense, because I’ve been there too. That’s why I focus on patience, clear explanations, and turning “I can’t” into “I get it!”
Over the past 6 years, I’ve worked with 200+ students on everything from elementary math and algebra to calculus I and SAT/ACT prep. My goal isn’t just better grades, it’s building the confidence that sticks with you long after the test is over. Math doesn’t have to be scary, my job is to make it click. I tutor students from K-12 through college 1st year in everything from basic arithmetic and algebra to pre-calc, calculus I, geometry, trig, and statistics.
Every lesson is tailored to you. We’ll start by identifying gaps and setting clear goals, then build skills step-by-step using real examples, visual tools, and practice problems that match your class or exam. I focus on understanding the “why” behind each concept, not just memorizing formulas.
