Hi! I’m Jacqueline, and I’m passionate about helping students feel confident, capable, and curious when it comes to learning. With a background in tutoring and youth engagement, I’ve spent years working with children in academic and social settings—from one-on-one tutoring sessions to summer camps and birthday parties. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and International Affairs, and I’ve always loved breaking down big, sometimes intimidating topics into manageable, easy-to-understand pieces. As a passionate and patient tutor, I specialize in helping elementary to middle school students build confidence and a strong foundation in math and science. I believe every student learns differently, and my approach is to meet them where they are—whether they need help catching up, staying on track, or getting ahead.
My background includes years of experience working with young learners not only as a tutor, but also in social and creative environments—like summer camps, birthday parties, and enrichment programs. This helps me bring a unique energy and empathy to each session. I aim to make learning engaging, structured, and low-stress, so students can truly enjoy the process.
Typical Lesson Structure:
5 minutes – Warm-up: A fun brain teaser or quick review to get us in the right mindset
10 minutes – Concept Introduction: We go over the day’s topic together using clear explanations, visuals, or analogies
20 minutes – Guided Practice: We work through problems together, step-by-step, to build skill and confidence
15 minutes – Independent Work: I let the student try problems on their own, offering help as needed
10 minutes – Review & Preview: We check understanding, clarify anything confusing, and set a goal for the next session
Every lesson is tailored to the student’s needs and learning style—whether they thrive with visuals, repetition, storytelling, or games. I also regularly check in with parents and caregivers to share progress and ensure we’re aligned on goals.
