Hello! My name is Hallie! I am a passionate, fun, and friendly nursing student who is committed to helping students understand and feel confident in their abilities. I believe that learning math becomes much easier when concepts are explained clearly, and students understand the “why” behind each step. My approach is patient, personalized, and focused on building both mathematical skills and confidence.
I adapt my teaching style to each student’s level and learning pace. I break difficult topics into smaller, manageable steps and use simple explanations, worked examples, and practice problems to make concepts easier to understand. I also encourage students to ask questions and explain their reasoning, rather than simply memorizing formulas. Critical thinking is the key to succeeding when it comes to math.
A typical lesson begins with a quick review of previous material and a discussion of any areas the student is struggling with. We then introduce or review the main topic, work through examples together, and gradually move toward independent practice. I finish by reviewing the key ideas and identifying anything that should be practiced before the next lesson.
What sets me apart is my focus on making students feel comfortable with math. Mistakes are an important part of learning, so I create a supportive environment where students can work through challenging problems without feeling discouraged. My goal is not only to help students improve their grades, but also to develop problem-solving skills and confidence that they can use independently.
My lessons are suitable for middle school and high school students who need help with math, whether they are struggling with a particular topic, preparing for an exam, studying for the ACT, completing homework, or looking to strengthen their overall understanding of the subject.
