About Zohra
Hi there! I am a Brooklyn-based editor and researcher, and artist. I grew up in Madagascar, South Africa and Eswatini!
I have a bachelor's degree in theatre from New York University, and a master's degree in global thought from Columbia University. I’ve taught middle and high school students completing the International Baccalaureate and International General Certificate of Secondary Education.
I specialize in academic/critical writing, research, and creative writing, but am very able to assist with coursework that requires solid written work at any level!

I provide academic/critical/creative writing services for k-12 and undergraduate students. My lessons begin with identifying the student's objectives, using a short exercise. Then, depending on the student's goals, I help them pinpoint the areas where they would like to grow. From there, I form an intuitive lesson plan, based on the student's own strengths, challenges and objectives.
At the core, my method is based in using creative tools for academic writing, hopefully making it fun!

I have had the pleasure of watching Zohra grow over the years into the accomplished professional she is today. From my observations, Zohra is an exceptional teacher/tutor/mentor, and facilitator Zohra puts her whole self into her work. She is organized and reliable. She is a creative out-of-the-box thinker, and she is also very patient and empathetic which make her an ideal tutor. She relates well to youth and is particularly adept at building trusting relationships with her students especially adolescents. Zohra’s formative training was in the French educational system and is bi-lingual French/English. I highly recommend her as a tutor.
Zohra and I studied together at secondary school and now work together. Zohra was recognised not only for excelling in French during the International Baccaleaureate, but also for successfully tutoring her co-students in this course to acheive high grades. Since then, Zohra has honed her practice, teaching in multiple formats - on a one-to-one tutoring basis, and for larger classes. I think she is such a great prof because she takes time to reflect on the different needs of each student she teaches, tailoring her approach to ensure it suits them and helps them excel. Within a professional context, Zohra is reliable, creative, proactive and is always open to trying a new approach to acheive brilliant results for herself and her clients.
Zohra and I go way back. We grew up in Madagascar together where we spoke English at home and spoke French at school and with our friends. Zohra is truly fluent in both English and French, and has always had a talent for languages. She received a Bilingual International Baccalaureate (French + English), a Bachelor’s Degree from New York University and a Masters Degree from Columbia University. She is a great writer, teacher, and researcher and can help students understand complicated ideas. She has taught middle school and high school students with patience and understanding. I couldn’t think of a better person to tutor students looking to improve their handle on the French language, to write more confidently and to excel in their learning goals.
I met Zohra some time ago, before she joined Superprof. She has always been patient and clear with her instruction and guidance while I learn and practice my French. She is kind and calm and is equally comfortable in both English and French. Being bilingual she is able to guide her students through their difficulties in either language. I’d recommend Zohra as a teacher to anyone looking to learn or improve their French.
