About Alexis
I am a PhD student and instructor at a large Midwestern university. I have taught hundreds of undergrads in my classroom, and go above and beyond to provide an individualized learning experience for each of my students. Before I became a college instructor, I tutored middle schoolers and high schoolers after school in all subjects. As a communication scholar, simplifying difficult concepts for a broader audience is my area of expertise. I can help you effectively put your thoughts to paper, polish your writing, and help you break down difficult ideas to make them easier for you to understand and remember.

I have years of experience teaching college students and tutoring middle schoolers and high schoolers. I don't follow a "one-size-fits-all" approach to learning and I instead lay the groundwork to get to know the individual student so that I can customize a learning experience that best fits them. Learning shouldn't be intimidating, so I do everything I can to help make this a fun experience for my students!
I'm happy to teach at the middle school, high school, and college levels. I can help with English, literature, social studies and/or social sciences (psychology, sociology, communication, etc.), test prep, resume prep, and more. Come to me if you need help understanding a specific concept, have questions about a problem set or writing prompt, need assistance structuring an essay, or need someone to proofread your papers!
