About Faridah
I am passionate about math, programming, writing, and art. People often think that these subjects do not go well together, but with the proper mindset, these topics are quite linked. Computer science is a specific subject that I believe is the intersection between those four subjects. I will use math to express my artistic identity, and I think my students can too! (≧∇≦)ﾉ However, the computer science program at the University of Toronto is extremely academically rigorous. In high school, focusing on my studies was my top priority. In order to get in, I used proven study techniques such as active recall, distributive practice, and active recall. I know I can help students properly utilize these study methods, not just for math, but for education in general.

I design my lessons to be student-centered, focusing on demonstration and application. This is what a typical 1-hour lesson with me looks like: First 5 min: Student demonstrates what they remember about a topic from school, explaining what they need help with. 15 min: Review of concepts essential to the topic with demonstration. 15 min: Teaching the material to the student through examples and active engagement. 10 min: Let student do practice questions by themselves, guiding them so that they internalize their improvement. I will closely follow the curriculum of the student's course, bringing them ahead of their peers! ( •̀ ω •́ )✧ 20
