About Carla
I have a Bachelor of Liberal Arts in Creative Writing with a minor in Journalism, along with strong experience in teaching and editing. As a 5th Grade ELA and History teacher at Success Academy Charter School, I developed skills in organizing complex information, encouraging critical thinking, and using student data to support student growth. In my most recent role teaching both ELA and History, I further strengthened my storytelling skills and understanding of historical context, which help me create clear, engaging, and accurate content. I am professional, detail-oriented, and committed to producing work that builds trust, confidence, and credibility with students.

My approach as a tutor is structured, explicit, and student-centered, with a strong focus on building both skills and confidence.
