About Melissa
I have 5 years background as an au pair and 2 years experience as an Additional Learning Needs teacher. I work across all grade levels from Prep to Year 6 and my role consists of helping children who are on the Autism Spectrum, have ADHD, or other learning difficulties both one-on-one and in a group setting. I love working with kids and am a passionate about teaching and education.

As a teaching assistant it is my goal to help each child feel capable, confident, and successful by helping them understand the curriculum and lesson plans based on their own unique learning styles and abilities. This involves building a strong foundational understanding of the material in a hands-on way where they can play an active role in the learning processing.
I create an open dialogue from the beginning so that my students feel comfortable asking questions, exploring different methods through trial and error, and free to express their creativity by relating the material to their own interests.
