About Kabelo
Hi, I'm Kabelo — a Sociology Master's graduate (Cum Laude) from the University of Johannesburg, with an Honours degree awarded with distinction. My postgraduate research has been recognised by my supervisors as having publication potential, and I've spent the past few years applying quantitative and qualitative research methods professionally — from academic research at UJ to socio-economic research in the renewable energy sector.
I've supervised Honours-level research from proposal to final write-up (my student passed with 72%), tutored undergraduate Sociology students, and worked extensively with SPSS and research data analysis in both academic and professional settings.
Whether you're stuck on your research proposal, wrestling with SPSS output, or trying to make sense of your literature review, I can help you get unstuck — clearly, patiently, and without the jargon.
What I can help with:
Research design (quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods)
SPSS: data entry, cleaning, descriptive and inferential statistics, output interpretation
Dissertation and thesis structuring and writing support
Literature reviews and theoretical frameworks
Research proposals and methodology chapters
Data analysis and presenting findings (charts, tables, write-up)
Exam prep for research methods/statistics modules
Who I work with:
Undergraduate and postgraduate students (Honours, Master's) across the social sciences and related fields, as well as anyone needing help with a research-based assignment or project.
My approach:
I focus on building your understanding, not just getting you through one deadline — so you leave each session more confident and better equipped for the next chapter, exam, or project.

Lesson format:
One-on-one and small group sessions available, tailored to your specific project, module, or research stage — not a generic curriculum. Offered as single one-off sessions or ongoing packages, depending on what you need.
Session options:
Single sessions — ideal if you need focused help on something specific: interpreting SPSS output, reviewing a methodology chapter, preparing for a stats exam, or troubleshooting a research design problem before a deadline.
Ongoing packages — better for sustained support across a full research project or dissertation, with structured progress from proposal through to final write-up. We agree a rough roadmap upfront and check in regularly against it.
Small group sessions — great for study groups or classmates working through the same module (e.g. a research methods or statistics course), where I can cover shared fundamentals together and then take questions individually. Group rates available on request.
How lessons work:
First session: We start by understanding exactly where you're stuck — your research question, current progress, deadline, and what "success" looks like for you. I'll review any material you've already got (proposal, data, draft chapters) beforehand if you send it ahead of time.
In sessions, we might:
Work through research design and methodology step by step
Sit together in SPSS, running analyses and interpreting output in real time
Review and give structured feedback on written drafts (proposals, chapters, literature reviews)
Break down statistical concepts using plain-language explanations and real examples
Prepare for research methods or statistics exams with practice questions
Between sessions: I set clear, specific next steps so you make real progress before we meet again.
Typical session length: 60–90 minutes, depending on the task
Materials: Bring your own data/draft where relevant; I can also provide practice datasets for SPSS skill-building
Pace: Fully adaptable — from a single pre-deadline session to weekly support across a full thesis

I highly recommend Kabelo to anyone looking for support with SPSS and research methods. I was struggling to analyse my data and understand which statistical tests to use, but he explained everything in a clear and patient way. Instead of just giving me the answers, he made sure I understood the concepts behind the analysis, which really improved my confidence.
He is knowledgeable, professional, and always willing to answer questions, no matter how small they seem. Thanks to his guidance, I was able to complete my analysis correctly and felt much more confident interpreting my results. If you're looking for an SPSS tutor who is reliable, approachable, and genuinely invested in your success, Kabelo is an excellent choice.I’ve had the pleasure of being tutored by Kabelo, and I can honestly say he is an excellent tutor. He is patient, knowledgeable, and explains difficult concepts in a way that is easy to understand. His teaching style is very supportive and encouraging, which made me feel more confident in my studies.
One experience that stood out for me was how he took extra time to make sure I fully understood topics I was struggling with instead of rushing through the lesson. He is professional, reliable, and genuinely cares about his students’ progress.
I highly recommend Kabelo to other students looking for a dedicated and effective tutor.Kabelo was my SPSS tutor back in 2024. He is brilliant in his facilitation and preparation for lessons. He has developed an SPSS workbook that is very informative and interactive, which has helped me complete my own project. Through his guidance, I managed to obtain 75% for my research project.
