About Parker
Hi! I'm a first-year college student studying Mechanical Engineering and Exercise Science. I graduated from high school at the top of my class and earned many awards in doing so. I also play football for my university. I grew up in Illinois but moved to Colorado for my high school experience.
I am patient, helpful, and well-prepared for every session. I take the time to understand each student's individual needs, learning styles, goals, and personalities. I thrive on building strong connections with my students.
As someone who has recently been through the schooling you're approaching now, I know what topics are confusing and how to better understand them. I strive to create a calm, welcoming learning environment where students feel comfortable asking all questions and making mistakes.
My goal is not just to make the student succeed academically, but to feel capable and confident when approaching new topics in math.

My goal as a tutor is to help the student UNDERSTAND what they're learning rather than simply telling them to memorize a formula. I'll focus on breaking bigger problems down into more manageable, simpler steps, and build from there.
I like to work especially with:
-Students who "behind" or confused in class
-Students who get frustrated studying
-Students who feel like the teacher moves too quickly in class.
(I was and still am a slow learner, so I understand how someone who is "behind" is feeling, and how to better catch them back up)
My tutoring style is patient, interactive, and student-centered. I don't have a formula or specific teaching plan, as I believe everyone learns in different ways and at different speeds. Rather, I let the student present what they're struggling with, and help them work through it and truly understand it.
I'm a current student who has struggled learning in class and often need external help. Despite this, I've learned to use the resources around me to thrive. Now, I want to help those in a similar situation.
