About Chris
I remember being a middle schooler and struggling with math. I think teachers often focus on formula memorization rather than understanding the actual concepts. This made it difficult to perform well on exams since there were so many things I needed to memorize. It wasn't until my junior year of high school that I had a teacher who really showed me the importance of understanding math rather than memorizing. Since then, I have found a much deeper understanding of the subject and even come so far as to enjoy math.

I know math can be a difficult subject; so, I think it is important for students to really understand the material rather than memorizing formulas. Typically, I ask what the student is learning in class and for any materials they are using. From there, I communicate with them about problem areas and devise a lesson plan and provide resources I think would help. I tutor students from grades 6-12, excluding geometry (Prealgebra, Algebra 1 and 2, Precalculus, Calculus 1 and 2, General Math).
