About Katelin

I'm a medical doctor and I have always been interested in teaching. I have 8 years' experience in tutoring GCSE and A-level subjects alike, as well as in personal statement help. I am passionate about encouraging students to have a positive mindset about their goals and learning. I strongly believe in adapting lessons to meet the individual's needs as this is why private tutoring provides the extra push or support that school doesn't. My lessons are often a mixture of covering technical aspects of the curriculum, discussions to encourage wider thinking and exam practice.

About the lesson

The initial lesson would focus on understanding the student's strengths and weaknesses and producing lesson plans based on their goals and preferred approach to learning. Individual critical thinking is always encouraged as it is the most sustainable and long-lasting strategy for successful learning and knowledge will be tested at regular intervals with exam-style practice.

Katelin taught me English after I got 4s for my exams. Her style of teaching is very adaptive and she explains concepts well. I struggled with answering questions and Katelin gave me the structure and strategies I needed to be prepared. I would recommend Katelin, she is very approachable and easy to ask questions to. I got a 6 and a 7 in my resits.

Katelin taught me throughout secondary school. She helped me achieve 6s and 7s in GCSE Maths, English Lit/Lang and Sciences. She is very friendly and approachable and I always felt comfortable asking her questions when I was struggling with the subjects at school. She goes above and beyond to provide resources and answer questions out of hours. She really cares about making sure you have a good foundation to your knowledge and has a detailed understanding of exam technique. I think she is a very trustworthy tutor.
