About Caren

Reading sheet music, reading tabs, electric technique, strumming patterns, lead guitar, and grade exam prep form the core of what I share with the 150 students I have guided since my USC Thornton days. Is it frustrating to spend years practicing alone without ever actually playing music with other human beings? I diagnose before I teach, which means the first session is mostly me listening to your current habits.

My approach is rooted in the nights I spent helping classmates finish their projects right before the deadlines hit. That collaborative energy is what I aim to capture when working with people who feel stuck in their own practice space, and the flow just happens.

Sound matters. We start by turning your favorite song requests into simplified arrangements that actually work for your hands right now.

This is a process of teaching for transfer, so everything we do today pays off in the next topic we encounter. I focus on electric technique and those tricky strumming patterns that trip everyone up during the early stages.

You will find that lead guitar becomes much more intuitive once we strip away the unnecessary noise. My goal is to bridge the gap between being a solitary player and a confident musician who can hold their own in a room. I have seen so many students come to me after a different method failed to stick, so we just take it slow and steady. If you have been searching for a way to get out of the bedroom and onto a stage, send me a message when you are ready.
