Lessons are friendly, fun, and aimed at enabling you to play with others and get out gigging. Music is my life so I'll give you cool stuff to listen to. I can also repair instruments or tell you what needs doing if yours is poorly.

I teach the double bass and bass guitar - Country, skiffle, blues, world, pop, jazz and classical. Pizzicato & arco (fingers & bow).

I have Grade 8 Double Bass and BA Hons in Music.
- How much do you charge?
£30 p/h if you come to my house. £40 p/h for home visits. Half-price taster lessons.
- Where do you teach?
I teach at home in Hackney but can travel up to 30 minutes for lessons at your house. I'm near Victoria Park so lessons will be in the park on sunny days.
- When are you available?
Weekday days and evenings - Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & possible Sunday afternoons - I'm gigging the rest of the time.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
I teach age 10 upwards. Total beginner to Grade 8 and above. Depends what you want to learn.
- Do you have a personal message for students?
Double bass is the coolest instrument! You'll love it!!! And yes, it sometimes is a pain to carry around but totally worth it, and everyone is always super-happy to see you.
- What kind of experience do you have?
I've been playing double bass for 29 years and, working as a professional. I've played 250/300 shows a year around the country and the world for the last 15 years. I have played in dozens of bands in myriad genres and also run my own bands and gigs.

Wakefield Music Service, Leeds College of Music, Newcastle University, out on the streets and on many many stages.
