About Anne
With a Master's degree in Biomimicry, a Biomimicry Professional Certification (expected late 2026), and six years in the field — the last four at the top biomimicry consulting firm in the industry — I bring real, active expertise into every session. I'm a soil nerd and ecosystem services enthusiast at heart, with a deep passion for the innovation and R&D work that sits at the frontier of nature-inspired design. My approach is mentorship-first: I'm here to think with you, challenge you, and help you grow into the kind of practitioner this field genuinely needs.

Nature has spent 3.8 billion years perfecting solutions to problems we're still struggling to solve — these lessons teach you how to tap into that genius. Through the lens of biomimicry, ecology, soil systems, and ecosystem services design, you'll develop the kind of deep, translational thinking that turns natural strategy into real-world innovation. Every session is grounded in active, high-level industry work — not outdated textbook theory — so you're always learning at the cutting edge of what this field is actually doing. Whether you're a student, a designer, or a professional ready to go deeper, these lessons will rewire the way you see and solve problems.

Anne is truly a remarkable human. She is an amazing teacher and thoughtful leader. She is in my cohort in the biomimicry professionals certification program, and our group is so lucky to have the chance to learn from Anne's deep knowledge of living systems, ecology, biology, mycology, and how to apply these learnings to human systems. Anne makes learning fun, and her excitement is infectious. If you get the chance to study with her, you will be better off for it. I highly recommend her as a teacher, coach, and leader!
Anne is an ecology superstar with a soil-nerd heart, an infectious curiosity about fungi, and a gift for making the hidden workings of ecosystems feel clear and fascinating. She brings nature to life in a way that’s approachable, memorable, and always rooted in an amazing story and some very good puns.
Anne's enthusiasm for the living world, and for soil health, is contagious. She uses her brilliant mind to combine deep knowledge of biology and ecology with humor and kindness. Going into nature with Anne guarantees that you're going to be amazed by wonders above and below the soil. She is a joy to be with, and an experienced Biomimic. I highly recommend her!
Anne is an excellent mentor/coach. I was lucky enough to experience field work with her in South Carolina wetlands. Her enthusiasm for learning is so infectious. I was trying to get my head around my email networks and the strategies of fu go. She brought this to life by telling the story of one right in front of us on a tree and also gave me the confidence to build on her insights. Most importantly, her joy seems to come from other people making discoveries far more than her own demonstration of cleverness. A great quality and highly recommend Anne as a teacher and mentor.
I met Anne on a biomimicry immersion trip in 2019. Her intelligence and infectious enthusiasm for all the geekery of connecting science with nature is truly inspiring. She is the one who talked me into taking my biomimicry journey further and I am eternally grateful!
