I graduated with a First-Class Honours degree in BSc Economics and have since been working as a full-time professional tutor. I teach 7+, 11+, 13+ GCSE, A Level and IB students as well as providing university application support, conducting mock entrance interviews and helping to draft high quality personal statements.
I begin by discussing your individual requirements and areas of the syllabus you would like to focus on. New students often ask to recap concepts and theories they don’t fully understand, which I am happy to do, but in my experience, most also require help with exam technique, and how to translate their knowledge into a high-grade answer. I therefore place a great emphasis on guiding students through the process of completing past paper questions, across all topic areas so you can enter the examination hall not with apprehension but with relish to show your knowledge to the examiner.
In our sessions I will help with structuring your answers, illustrate how to use higher order analytical and evaluation skills, and crucially, how to perform to your very best under the unique pressure of an academic examination. My sessions are interactive, two-way and example-based so that the lessons are engaging and capture your interest. My aim is for you to look forward to our teaching as a weekly highlight rather than a chore.
I want every student to gain as much value as possible from our time together. That is why I create a personalised a learning program for each student, with weekly feedback and learning targets which ensure progress is always being made. It’s hard work - unfortunately there are no “cheats” that guarantee exam success - but my methods ensure that your hard work is highly effective towards building the requisite knowledge and skills you need to exploit your full potential and attain the best possible grades.

The tuition from William was invaluable in helping my son through his A level Mathematics course. His test scores have increased from B to A* and he was feeling much more confident for his upcoming examinations until they were cancelled because of the Coronavirus pandemic!
Will’s Mathematics 11+ structured teaching program was great. It consisted of an initial assessment, weekly tutoring, regular homework and monthly testing. Combined with the frequent feedback and target setting, the sessions greatly improved our daughter’s test scores as well as building her confidence enormously. He also sent us various resources that we could use for practice outside of lessons, which was useful to reinforce her learning. Overall, he was professional, supportive and effective, a great investment for our daughter’s education.
My son had to sit the TSA for his Oxford University application and so William tutored him for six months to help with his preparation. His lessons were engaging and he was often in contact with us to leave feedback and set goals. My son ended up getting in the top decile for the TSA and subsequently attained a place at Oxford, reading Economics and Management. Couldn't be more pleased with the tutoring from William, money well spent!
I have had the pleasure of working alongside William for numerous years and with various tutoring agencies. His attention to detail and dedication with each student is second-to-none and he has an incredible track record of university entrance tuition. I have previously referred students to William, all of whom have been incredibly pleased with his services.
