About Joy
I am currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering at Carleton University. Since high school, I have enjoyed simplifying complex concepts for my peers in a supportive and practical way, ensuring they leave each lesson with a smile and a deeper understanding. My previous experience includes tutoring for high school IGCSE exams, where I focused on making learning engaging and accessible. I believe in the power of visual aids to enhance comprehension and boost retention. My goal is to create a lasting impact in students' lives by building their confidence in subjects that may come across as terrifying. Outside of academics, I express my creativity through drawing and photography, and I enjoy watching thriller, action, and high school drama shows.

As a tutor, my approach is centered on making learning engaging, personalized, and effective. I believe every student has a unique way of understanding concepts, so I adapt my teaching methods to suit their individual needs. I focus on interactive learning, breaking down complex topics into simpler, relatable concepts using real-world examples, visual aids, and problem-solving exercises. My sessions encourage active participation, where students ask questions, work through problems, and apply concepts in practical scenarios. Each lesson begins with a quick review of previous material to ensure continuity, followed by clear explanations of new concepts, guided practice, and problem-solving exercises. I encourage students to attempt problems independently while offering support when needed, and I end each session with a recap and additional practice recommendations to solidify learning. What sets me apart is my ability to make learning enjoyable and stress-free, creating a comfortable environment where students feel confident tackling challenges. I also focus on exam strategies, helping students develop efficiency in problem-solving. My lessons are designed for high school and university students studying Math, Physics, and other calculation-based subjects, whether they are preparing for exams, improving foundational skills, or tackling advanced coursework.
