About Pat
My name is Patrick Corbett, and I am an Adjunct Professor of Electrical Technology and a professional Electronic Warfare Engineer. I hold degrees in Electrical Technology and Electrical Engineering Technology and am currently pursuing my Master of Business Administration (MBA). I enjoy helping students understand challenging concepts by connecting theory to practical, real-world applications. My goal is to create a professional, supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, building confidence, and developing the problem-solving skills needed to succeed both academically and professionally.

I am an Electronic Warfare Engineer and college instructor with a passion for helping students understand electrical engineering instead of simply memorizing formulas. My goal is to build confidence by breaking complex concepts into simple, practical steps that students can apply both in the classroom and in their future careers.
My teaching style is hands-on and interactive. Every lesson begins with a brief review of previous material, followed by an explanation of new concepts using real-world engineering examples. We then work through practice problems together before finishing with independent exercises to ensure you can solve similar problems on your own. I encourage questions throughout every lesson and adapt my teaching style to match each student's learning pace.
What sets me apart is that I teach these topics professionally while also working as an engineer in the defense industry. I combine real engineering experience with classroom instruction, giving students insight into how electrical principles are actually used outside of textbooks. Whether it's AC/DC circuits, circuit analysis, electronics, troubleshooting, instrumentation, or engineering fundamentals, I focus on developing true understanding rather than short-term memorization.
My lessons are ideal for high school students preparing for engineering programs, college students taking electrical engineering or engineering technology courses, trade school students, and adult learners looking to strengthen their electrical knowledge. I also help students prepare for exams, complete homework and lab assignments, improve problem-solving skills, and gain the confidence needed to succeed in engineering courses.
