About Kiran
Hello! I’m Kiran Arya, and I’m excited to be your Mathematics tutor. While I don’t have formal teaching experience, I’ve spent years homeschooling my younger brother and volunteering to teach underprivileged kindergarten kids. These experiences have helped me develop a strong ability to break down complex concepts into easy-to-understand steps. I believe every student deserves to feel confident in their learning, and I’m passionate about making lessons fun and engaging. My approach as a tutor is to help students truly understand the core fundamentals of each math concept, break down problems into digestible steps and focusing on understanding the fundamentals. At the same time, I like to keep the process interactive and fun. I try to introduce game scenarios in my classes. for eg. "beat your best time," "solve faster than last time", etc. I believe teaching is a noble profession, where no doubt is too small to be addressed, and every student deserves to be answered in the simplest possible manner. I prefer to teach grade 1 to 8, as I have majority of experience for this age. A typical lesson plan of my class would be as follows: 1. I review the foundational knowledge and ensure students understand it before moving forward. I like to explain the concept using visual tools wherever possible. (objects, charts, etc.) 2. I reiterate the concept understanding from the students themselves. 3. I provide sample problems for solving with game scenarios 4. Lastly, I summarize the concept and assign simple but connected to real-world problems for homework.
