About Jordan
I'm an American writer and tutor based in Edinburgh with extensive experience in the classroom and a love for literature! Before moving to Scotland, I worked in the Monomoy Public School district as a supply teacher and later as a teaching assistant, with a particular focus on special education and assisting students with high needs in improving reading comprehension and grammar. I graduated from the University of Edinburgh in 2022 with my MSc in Classics, and now work with students to provide high quality, one-to-one instruction in reading, spelling, and grammar. I'm also an avid music lover and vinyl collector, and aim to incorporate music into my lessons whenever possible!

Lessons are adesigned around the skill level and needs of each student. I provide personalised, one-to-one instruction for primary and secondary level readers, performing a needs assesment prior to the first session and designing a modular curriculum that is flexible and easy to digest. Depending on needs and availability, sessions can be arranged for 60 or 90 minute apppointments.
I have previous experience in teaching and curriculum development in primary/secondary school classrooms, with a particular focus on special education and students with high needs.
