I am a graduate of English Literature from Newcastle University with experience primarily in GCSE English tutoring, but branching out into A-Level tutoring also. I am a passionate and dedicated teacher with personal experience studying English, teaching students aged 11+ in English. I specialise in English Literature with a particular focus on helping students to apply their knowledge in reasoned and considered ways, as markers are looking for. I like to begin teaching sessions by looking at general topics (e.g. a discussion of themes, historical context, or form) and help students progress to applying this knowledge in essay-style arguments. This formula can easily be shifted and altered to meet the needs of the individual student so that lessons remain supportive, encouraging, and suitably challenging for students of every level.
