About Joe
I initially studied American Studies, at Lancaster with one year in Chicago, and then in Nottingham. I discovered a love for both English literature and history. Over the years that interest has never faded and I have come to firmly believe that young people are enriched by the study of these subjects, not just to gain qualifications but also have a grounding in history and literature.

I have taught access courses in colleges of FE for many years, teaching English and History. I also have also done private tutoring for the last 15 years. Of course students need to do well, pass exams and gain qualifications but as well as closely following the syllabus laid out, students do best when they learn to enjoy and value these subjects.
