My teaching method is tailored to whatever the student needs. I am as flexible as possible and understand that every student is unique in their own way. I can be more visual, more audible, more kinesthetic, more slow etc. I hope to create a comfortable environment where learning isn't too much of a chore.
I can almost guarantee that your problem is writing, therefore that is my teaching focus. I concentrate on improving your writing and study skills so that you can reach your highest potential. My current students are doing A-Level History; Degree level History, Politics & Sociology; a Masters Degree; and one just going into her PhD in Classics.
I approach my topics in a way that is personable and relevant to each individual student. I choose to assess their level of confidence and what they hope to achieve by asking questions and thoughtfully listening. In addition to this, I prefer to review some of their past work in order to gain a better picture of where their skills currently lie, and where we may work together to improve them.
I tailor my teaching based on how each student learns. I incorporate visuals and make learning enjoyable. Learning should not have to be boring. Rather, during the first session I will gage how each student prefers to learn and create a detailed, engaging and fun lesson plan that will benefit the student both intellectually and emotionally.
I am a patient and enthusiastic teacher. Sessions are relaxed enough to ensure my students feel comfortable to ask all their questions, but structured to ensure each hour is highly valuable. No one lesson is the same, and feedback is given on all written work.
I work with students to discover the best way to put ideas into words, not to tell them the "right" or "wrong" way to write. I love hearing how each student draws different meaning from a text, and then helping the student to put those meanings into a written context.
Personally, I believe the key to learning is to discover what piques your interest and build from there. I'm excited to tutor at all levels, providing focused yet fascinating lessons which are based on what you yourself want to learn.
Coaching, not teaching! I believe in empowering the learner, regardless of subject matter, so s/he can master any challenge in regard to English / American literature or writing, speaking, and grammar. I have received teaching awards and have "converted" literature-haters to writing poets in just one summer course...
I base my tutoring around what the student wants to achieve and then we figure out how best to reach that goal together. We can go through that students existing work together or I can set additional work if that is wanted or needed.
My teaching method is to share a key word: e.g. 'hyperbole' and give examples on how you would use that particular word or phrase in a sentence. Then I would implement a discussion about what this word means to that individual.
My methodology to teach is simply: instruct on the principles or reasons behind a science and from this knowledge construct your student's understanding on more complex studies. This has worked for the adults and children I've taught in the recent past .
The most effective way to achieve grades in GCSE and A level is to follow mark schemes and appeal to examiners, but this should not limit a students intellectual creativity. Once you understand how each English essay is structured like a paint-by-numbers activity, not only does every essay become easy, but it has room for independent thought and developed ideas.
My pedagogy is based on critical inquiry: in other words, I encourage my students to ask questions. I intend to balance helping students develop their learning capacity with using the strengths students already have to help them succeed.
Authenticity and respect, along with depth of knowledge of my subject and conviction that every student has potential to learn.
Analytical, participative, problem solving and case study approach to teaching.
For most students the 'right' and 'wrong' method of answering a question in literature isn't clear. My method is to teach students to identify the exact requirements of the mark schemes provided so they can learn to write in a way that hits all criteria.
My teaching methodology is consultative and enables me to build the students’ confidence in their own creative writing style and establish a deep analytical approach to deconstructing the route themes of the text.
my teaching method is to give the student the tools to complete their own work and therefore set them up for an independent study, I will help the student know what type of studying works best for them and help open up what can seem a confusing subject.
My teaching methods vary depending on the way the student best retains the information. I usually encourage mindmaps and organised note-taking as well as providing thorough explanations and discussions to help break down theories and ideas. If there is a specific method that works for you, I am happy to explore it to ensure you receive the best possible results.
Private English classes are the best place to make mistakes. If you make mistakes in class then you can learn from them. This will make you more confident to meet your friends and co-workers outside the classroom. I make classes really relaxed and fun with a strong focus on conversation skills. I can also help you learn new words and improve your listening and grammar skills.
My style is friendly and relaxed whilst aiming to maintain structured learning objectives. I have developed lesson plans that range from Essay Writing and Structuring, Grammatical Practice to Debate and Public Speaking. Often, my lessons are designed to unite a piece of literature with informed historical contexts, philosophy and literary theory.
I am an ex facilitator of English in the DRS International school in Hyderabad, India. I am known to be a person with a lot of positive spirit and a very cordial attitude. I have been teaching students from Standards I until standard VIII in India. I have always had a very positive feedback from the students.
My teaching method is relational and creative - I seek make text relevant and inspiring, placing them in historical, cultural, and socio-economic contexts, and try to make learning both challenging and enjoyable; to demystify it where possible, and always have in mind where the individual student is at in terms of understanding and perception.
I approach each topic by understanding my students preferred learning style. Such as if you’re an auditory learner different resources will be utilised .
My teaching methods will adapt to each student as I am aware that everyone learns differently. Analysing all types of texts, learning and identifying literary techniques and conceptualising theories will be explored to expand the pupil's knowledge on the world of English.
I can give lessons in the following subjects: English and French Language and Literature, Art History, Cultural Studies, Philosophy, Drama to students from GCSE year to the end of University. As a tutor, I am experienced with creating lesson plans over a long period of time, and providing individualized support to adapt to the needs of each student.
I tailor lessons to the student focusing on explaining concepts and then allowing the student to work independently on additional material I supply. I am hands on, friendly and understand that students require different approaches depending on how whether they are visual or verbal learners.
