About Sabrina
Hi, I'm Sabrina! I have a degree in English Literature and spent my graduate years working in schools so I've seen what makes a lesson click and, more importantly, what makes a student's eyes glaze over — we'll definitely be avoiding that. I now work in marketing, but tutoring's stuck with me, because there's honestly nothing better than watching something finally make sense for someone.
Outside of lessons, I'm almost always reading something (ask me for a book recommendation, I've got plenty) or listening to music — my playlists are a bit chaotic, but I stand by them. Fun fact: if we have a good session, don't be surprised if I send over a track that somehow fits the vibe of what we covered.

Methodology: Every lesson begins with working out not just what a student is struggling with, but why. Understanding rarely fails all at once - usually it's one specific gap quietly holding everything else up - and once I find it, I build the session around closing it properly rather than skating over the surface. For English specifically, this means paying close attention to how a text is read as much as what it says, building comprehension and analysis skills alongside the confidence to commit an idea to the page and see it through.
Lesson length: Lessons typically run 60 minutes, giving enough time to properly work through a topic without losing focus. Happy to discuss shorter or longer sessions depending on what suits the student.
Experience: English Literature graduate with three years' classroom experience as a Teaching Partner, plus one-to-one tutoring during university.
Who it's for: Primary and GCSE students, with English as my main focus, whether that's building core reading and writing skills, or preparing more specifically for SAT and GCSE exams.
