About Neha
I have a strong passion for teaching and love the whole experience of helping another person understand a concept better and enjoy it too! I believe I make an effort to understand what are the areas to be concentrated on when tutoring and ensure the learning process is comfortable, focussed on achieving goals and a space for clearing doubts and making the most out of this platform. As a student myself, I have been volunteering for 1-2-1 tutoring project at University of Durham for other local students and have past experience as a tutor, while in school I volunteered to teach students at lower grades. Although I am pursuing English Literature for my degree, I studied a combination of Science (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology) and English in my 12th grade (an Indian equivalent of A-Levels) and performed well (scoring a 95/100 in Physics and Math and a 96/100 in English). I consider myself well equipped to help another reach their set goal with the best of my abilities!

I am a first year English literature student at Durham University, also pursuing 2 modules in Psychology. I am currently tutoring a local student English at GCSE level, at Durham as part of a volunteering project at University and am also volunteering as a mentor to a student currently in her A-Levels at Project Access Mentorship. I have been tutoring ever since I was in 10th Grade and have thoroughly enjoyed the experience and love the process of teaching! My tutee and his parents have given me a positive feedback on the improvement in his academic performance, not only does he enjoy the subject now but also approaches exams confidently!
My first interaction with the student will be an attempt to identify the strengths and weakness and also understand what interests them in terms of the subject and the learning style. I will then chart out a plan with the student to identify their goal and provide guidance on how they must towards it. Along with the teaching sessions, I will make sure there is a sufficient amount of individual work done by the student between every class. Feedback from the student and the parents/guardians will help me alter my teaching style to suit the student as well as make sure the whole learning experience is enjoyable.
