About Mariam
Hi, I’m Mariam! I’m a friendly, patient and approachable tutor who genuinely enjoys English Literature and loves helping others understand it. I studied English Literature at A Level, so I know how challenging essays, difficult texts and exam preparation can feel. I want my lessons to be a space where students feel comfortable asking questions, sharing their ideas and building confidence. I’m especially passionate about helping students realise that English Literature isn’t about finding one “perfect” answer — it’s about learning how to explain and support your own ideas clearly. I’ll always be encouraging, patient and happy to work through things step by step.

I offer friendly and personalised English Literature lessons tailored to each student’s needs, whether they need help understanding texts, improving essay structure, developing analysis or preparing for exams. I use clear explanations, examples, guided practice and exam-style questions to build both confidence and skills. Lessons are suitable for GCSE students and can be adapted to their individual ability and goals. I aim to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and gradually become more confident in expressing their ideas.
