About Jhumur
I am an English teacher with over 18 years of teaching experience in India and Singapore. Over the course of my teaching career I have taught Indian(ICSE/ISC) as well as Cambridge(IGCSE/CLSP) curricula. Being an ex-copywriter and proof reader my favourite teaching points are Grammar and Creative Writing.I enjoy teaching, and try to devise various ways to make learning easy and fun. If grammar scares you or you simply hate writing essays, come join my classes, your outlook will be changed forever.

I believe teaching is facilitating, guiding but also handholding. I try to individualise my teaching as much as possible so that I am able to recognise your weaker areas as well as your strengths. My methods are dependent on the student profile. Usually I will start off closely guiding you, but as you grow in confidence and knowledge I gently guide you towards independent work. For younger children I use Playway methods, storytelling and games. For the older ones, debates, discussions and projects. At the end of the day learning must be fun!
