About Jillian
I am an English major at UNC Chapel Hill. I haven't given lessons before but I make excellent grades in English at my university and I have made Dean's list! I am an excellent writer and reader, and I love to teach others about the joys of reading and writing. When I was younger, I had a lot of hands-on experience with professional editors and teachers, and it made me grow up to be an English major! I look forward to having the same impact on students as those role models had on me.

I approach every lesson with gentleness and patience. I don't want you to learn out of fear of being "wrong" or "bad." I don't believe you can make mistakes! I only think you can grow and get better and better at writing and reading. I won't judge you if you're a little off-base, and I'll take as much time as you need to improve. I happen to be very good at this subject because I got a lot of help along the way. My goal is to be the same for you! I will be kind and thoughtful when I work with you, and I'll try to never make you feel like you are "stupid." When we work together, let me know what works for you as a learner and I'll adapt my strategy from there! Check in with me frequently if I'm not helping you as much as you need. Much love.
