I am a patient, friendly and enthusiastic teacher who strives to make my lessons as interesting and engaging as possible. I adopt a flexible approach, adjusting to the needs of the student to ensure that they get the most out of every class.
I several years experience tutoring in English, history, reading and Spanish with students aged 5-17, who went on to see their abilities and grades improve drastically. I achieved A* at A-Levels in both English and History, and am now in the second year of an English degree, specialising in historical literature.

I am an English student at King’s College London with a passion for literature and history, eager to branch out into the rich, diverse culture of creativity for which London is so revered.
I have always flourished in the world of academia, and during my time as deputy head girl of Leventhorpe Academy I was known for being approachable and enthusiastic. I used this opportunity to give back to the local community, organising events such as the Charity Week Talent Show, raising several thousand pounds for local charities, and the Christmas Lunch for the Elderly.
During my school career I was the recipient of prestigious intra-school awards for biology, history and English. I am particularly proud of having achieved some of the top grades in my year for both GCSE and A-Level results. The latter are as follows:
English Literature- A*
Certificate in Finance- Distinction
Throughout my time tutoring I have taught students aged 11-17 in English Literature, History and Spanish. I have also spent a 2 years in a volunteering programme encouraging reading skills in very young children, inspiring them to discover the joy of books. This gave me the skills necessary to build a rapport with others, which I’ve found particularly useful in other employment opportunities. This role was incredibly rewarding, especially seeing the progress made by my tutees.
Private Events Hostess at Down Hall Hotel (2016- Present)
Now being the longest-running member of my department, I am often put in charge of private functions such as weddings and private dinners, managing a team of several others to ensure that events run smoothly. This has not only given me the ability to work incredibly well under pressure during very long shifts, but has also taught me how to be an effective leader, how to communicate effectively with guests and fellow employees, and the value of sheer hard work
Student Ambassador at King’s College London (2017-2018)
This role entailed giving tours to prospective students, memorising huge amounts of information about the university itself and delivering them in a presentation. From this I have learnt the importance of confidence and thinking on my feet while public speaking.
Editor at King’s College Literary Journal (2017-2018)
As Editor it was my job to screen, modify, and polish submissions of prose and poetry from students, and then give thoughtful verbal and written feedback to these students. This primarily required a huge attention to detail to ensure that the pieces were fit for publishing, but also an enormous amount of tact and sensitivity when delivering feedback to ensure a positive working relationship with those who had sent submissions.
