About Sarah
I am a graduate of the University of Houston in History and Anthropology. For the last year, I have worked as an English teacher. The year before that I was a substitute for LCISD, and an independent English tutor for 8+ years. My students have seen vast improvements in SAT and STAAR scores, a better understanding of English and an appreciation for literature and writing.

My teaching method is based very heavily on the Swedish method, where independent interests of the student shapes the topics of the lessons we work through. I design my lessons myself, based on working methods I have used in the classroom, and each lesson addresses different TEKS or, as in the case with the SAT, the various reading, comprehension and grammar strategies involved in the test taking process. I slowly allow my students to delve deeply into their subject matter, getting beyond the surface of an article/essay/novel and into the 'meat' of the subject, so that they become not only interested, but invested in the success of their lesson.
